Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, May 27 at 8:15 a.m.
Happy Memorial Day, everyone. Have fun, be safe and remember to be patient if you are trying to get on the island this weekend. Thanks to all who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
We have A TON of boards on our consignment racks at great prices, including some of our old rentals for cheap. Come check those out!
Surf at The Washout is ankle high. It’s closing out at the lower tide, and is pretty much un-rideable, I’d say.
Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf-zone is clean and weak.
Look for north-west winds at 5 knots, going south-west late. Surf-zone should be clean until late afternoon.
We have a lot tide at 9:05 a.m., and a high tide will be at 3:21 p.m. The next low tide is at 9:24 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3 feet at 8 seconds in a combination of small east/south-east swell and a small south/south-west wind swell.
High pressure will be in control of our weather, sitting right on top of our marine area through the end of the week. This will be keeping temperatures very hot and waves very small for your Memorial Day weekend and into the work week. Look for choppy south/south-west wind swell to fill in for Friday and into the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure and unseasonably hot conditions will persist most of this week. Some relief from the oppressive heat is expected by the weekend.”
It’s a beautiful morning. It’s 81* with sun. Look for a very hot beach day with sun and passing clouds with a high of 96*.
Water temperature is around 82*.
Sunrise is at 6:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:18 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
