Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, November 19, at 8:30 a.m.
We’ll be having our “Schwack” Friday sale starting the day after Thanksgiving, with 25% off Sunglasses, apparel and more, as well as $125 off of any NEW board in the shop, excluding soft-boards (we’ll mark those down as well). Make sure to check it out and save some money on your Christmas gifts.
Waves at the Washout are running waist to stomach high with a slightly bigger set. It is semi-glassy but a tad soft at the morning’s high tide but shortboardable.
Winds are NW at 10-15 knots, expected to stay NW/N at 10 knots for most of the day.
High tide was at 8:14AM this morning, low tide will be at 2:15PM.
Edisto buoy is reading 8.5 ft. at 12 seconds in medium period ENE swell.
Waves on tap today people! Not epic but looking better than the last few days. Waves at the washout are in the waist to stomach range with the rare bigger set. Drifty but semi-clean on the faces thanks to the NW winds. To start the holiday work week, we see small easterly wind swell average knee to thigh high. We should see a nice south-east trade wind swell fill in for the middle of the holiday work week Wednesday into Thursday. Swell forecasts show a sub-tropical low pressure system ejecting out of the Gulf of Mexico off of the central Florida coast bringing more waves next weekend, but we’ll keep you posted as that forecast changes.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail today, then a cold front will pass through late tonight into Sunday morning. High pressure will then return through much of next week, though a Gulf low pressure system could impact the area mid to late week.”
It’s 63* and cloudy at the beach this morning. Look for cloudy skies with a high of 66*.
Water temperature has dropped to 61*.
Sunset is at 5:16 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:53 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
