Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, October 30, 2017 at 8:15 a.m.
The weather is getting cooler, and we have plenty of wetsuits to keep you toasty during the colder winter months. Come on in and check it out.
Waves at the Washout are ankle to knee high with a thigh high set.
Winds are west at 10 knots, and should remain westerly today. Surf zone is side-shore but clean.
Tide is going out, and low tide will be at 10:12 a.m. High tide will be at 4:41 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 6.9 ft. in short period west/south-west wind swell heading away from our beaches.
Cold high pressure is set up over our marine area and should remain over our area this week, with minimal surf in the forecast as is often seen with this type or winter weather pattern. We could see a pulse of easterly trade wind swell on Friday in the waist high range, but there are not too many wave making systems in the forecast this week, so enjoy the beautiful fall weather.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through early next week.”
It’s a cold 39* and sunny this morning. Look for a beautiful fall day with a high of only 62*.
Water temperature has dropped to around 69*with the cold snap. Might want to get a wetsuit soon.
Sunset is at 6:29 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:36 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
