Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, April 1 at 8:30 a.m. That’s Monday APRIL 1st.
Waves at the Washout at chest-to-head high with sets a few feet overhead. It very clean and the weather is warm out, and breaking out on the third reef before rolling for about 100-yards into the inside tube section. As a matter of fact, it looks like it always does on April Fools Day. First three pictures are DEFINITELY not today.
Surf at the Washout is knee to thigh high and semi-clean. It’s drifty down the beach.
Winds are north/north-east at 20 to 25 knots. Look for north-east winds at 10 to 25 knots keeping surf choppy and drifty all day.
Low tide is at 12:14 p.m., and high tide will be at 6:21 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 6.6 ft at 6 seconds in building north/north-east wind swell.
We see a coastal low affect our marine area late today into Tuesday, with strong north to north-east winds creating drift down the beach and semi—choppy conditions today. As this low moves off of our beaches, look for more swell to fill in by Tuesday afternoon as winds continue side-shore for the period. Swell fades out on Wednesday and Thursday, before we see swell rotate more on-shore as our next frontal system approaches the beach Friday into Saturday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A coastal storm will impact the region tonight into Tuesday. High pressure will then prevail until late week when another storm system will likely affect the area.”
It’s a chilly 47* with clouds this morning. Look for clouds all day and a high of only 56*.
Water temperature is around 62*.
Sunrise is around 7:13 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:36 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
