Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, March 31 at 8:00 a.m.
Waves at the pier knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set. Overall doesn’t look to appealing but rideable for the right stick.
Winds are south at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is bumpy and semi-choppy.
Winds should be south-west at 10 to 15 knots later this afternoon making for not so ideal conditions.
Low tide is at 11:27 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:41 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 4.3 ft at 5 seconds in an SSW wind-swell.
Surf looks rideable with a high-volume board this morning with some knee-thigh semi choppy nuggets. Overall, not looking great, but certainly rideable. Looking ahead this swell continues to decline throughout the weekend although should stay rideable before we see our next wave maker early next week. We see a coastal low affect our marine area Monday and Tuesday, and some more choppy, Tuesday afternoon could be the call. This Tuesday swell looks to fade into the rest of the work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will move offshore later today. A coastal storm will then impact the region Monday night into Tuesday followed by warmer and drier high pressure until late week when another cold front will likely affect the area.”
It’s 63* with sun behind the clouds this morning. Look for a front to cruise through our area mid-day bringing on some rain showers high of 76*
Water temperature is around 61*.
Sunrise is around 7:13 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:36 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
