Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, January 14 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the Washout at flat.
Winds are north at 10 to 15 knots, and surf is side-shore, but clean.
Look for winds to remain north and diminish at 5 to 10 knots this afternoon. Surf zone should be clean all day.
We are coming off a low tide, and high tide will be at 1:20 p.m. The next low tide will be at 7:34 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 4.2 seconds in a high-angled north wind swell.
We have small surf today and the rest of the work week looks to have smaller surf. Best hope for some waves might come as our next storm system affects our marine area into the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Dry high pressure will build in from the west and prevail into Thursday before a weak storm system brings a few showers at the end of the work week. Another stronger storm system is then expected to impact the area mainly late this weekend.”
It’s 42* with a wind chill of 37* this morning. Look for a high of 42* with sun behind the clouds later this afternoon.
Water temperature has dropped back to 56*.
Sunrise is around 7:23 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:34 p.m.
