Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast:
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: chilly!

Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, January 15 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at the Pier this morning are a little better than flat.

Winds are NNW at 5 knots and the surf is perfectly clean. If it were about 3 feet bigger it would be an absolute blast.

Look for winds to remain from the N hovering around 5 knots throughout the day.

We are coming off a low tide, and high tide will be at 2:19 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:31 p.m. The Edisto buoy is reading 3.3 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period E swell with NNE winds. We have small surf today and the rest of the work week looks to have smaller surf. Best hope for some waves might come as our next storm system affects our marine area into the weekend.  At the same time, temperatures will be dropping, so expect to be covered in neoprene.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Dry high pressure will build in from the west and prevail into Thursday. A weak storm system may bring a few showers at the end of the work week. A stronger storm system will then impact the area Saturday night and Sunday with much colder temperatures to follow starting Sunday night.”

It’s 43* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 54* with sun behind the clouds later this afternoon.

Water temperature has dropped back to 56*.

Sunrise is around 7:23 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:34 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
