Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, June 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is ankle to knee high. There is a rare thigh high set.
Winds are north-west at 10 to 12 knots. Surf zone is clean.
Look for winds to increase from the south at 10 to 15 knots today, chopping up the surf this afternoon.
We are coming off a high tide just after sun-rise, low tide will be at 12:30 p.m. The next high tide will be at 7:06 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 5 seconds in a small, short period south-west wind swell.
Look for increasing short period south wind swell today into the knee-to-thigh high range as the tide comes in this afternoon. We still see short period south-west wind swell with no REAL swell-makers off shore. Look for surf to average knee high with perhaps some thigh high waves in weak conditions for your work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will approach from the north tonight before stalling and dissipating nearby through mid-week. A trough of low pressure will then likely prevail late in the week through next weekend.”
It is 77* and very nice this morning with cloudy skies. There is a heat advisory in effect again today with a high of 89* and a good chance of thunderstorms later today.
Water temperature is up to 85*.
Sunset is at 8:31 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:13 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
