Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, May 6 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Washout is waist-to-stomach high. Occasionally, there is a slightly bigger set. It looks fun, early. It’ll likely fall off some on the lower tide.
Winds are north at 5 knots, and surf zone is clean.
Look for winds to go easterly today at 10 knots, adding some bump to the surf zone.
We have a high tide at 9:36 a.m., and a low tide will be at 3:32 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:48 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3.9 ft. at 6 seconds in a south/south-west wind swell.
There is a wave out here if you need to get wet this morning, but this should drop off some on the lower tide mid-afternoon. Surf looks fairly small to start the work week, but we should see a slight increase in south wind swell Thursday and Friday as another cold front and some unsettled weather effects our marine area.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Drier high pressure will build in behind a departing cold front and last through the middle of the week. Unsettled weather returns later in the week as another cold front approaches.”
It’s 72* with sunny skies. Look for a great beach day with a high of 81*and partly cloudy skies.
Water temperature is around 76*.
Sunrise is at 6:26 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:05 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
