Pier October 23rd

Clean, textured.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: ankle to knee
Traffic: none
Parking: none
Dangers: getting chilly!

Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, October 23rd at 8:30 a.m.

Water temperature is dropping with these cooler temps, so pop in to grab a new vest, spring or full.  Lots out on the floor.

Waves at the pier this morning are averaging ankle to knee high.  They are few and far between and mostly breaking close to shore.

Winds are NE at 5-10 knots, and surf zone is clean.

Look for N winds tonight at 5-10 knots, keeping surf slightly side shore.

Tide is going out, and low tide is at 1:34 p.m., and high tide will be at 7:39 p.m.  The Edisto buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period SE swell.  Surf looks small today but mostly clean.  Look for high-angled N winds throughout the week possibly bringing in some textured, side shore surf Wednesday into Friday. Definitely going to want to come snag some neoprene with that cool N wind.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Wednesday night. A low pressure system will impact the area late week into the weekend before high pressure returns early next week.”

It’s a 64* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 75* and clouds today.

Water temperature is now 78* after the cooler weather we had over the weekend. It should drop into the mid-70s this week.

Sunset is at 6:39 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:28 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
