Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, September 24 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Pier is averaging thigh high.

Winds are NNE at 10 knots, and surf is clean with a slight texture.  There are some nice waves peeling off next to the pier.

We see east winds this afternoon remaining around 10 knots with a possible shower later this afternoon.

We are coming off a high tide. Low tide will be at 2 p.m. and high tide will be at 8:23 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 3 ft. at 5.6 seconds in a combination of ENE swell and wind.

An area of tropical low pressure approaches our marine area from the east for the next few days, which could send up some small, medium period easterly swell through mid-week especially Tuesday. Look for waves averaging thigh to waist high, building a bit for Tuesday. A cold front approaches Wednesday and later in the work week, and winds go south-west for late week pushing up small, weak south-west wind chop.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front will linger over the area through Tuesday. Weak low pressure is expected to advance from the Atlantic tonight into Tuesday, then weaken as it moves northward. A cold front will approach from the west Wednesday, then possibly stall over the area Thursday into Friday. A second cold front is expected over the weekend.”

It’s 76* and partly cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 84* and sun and some clouds this afternoon with a 30% chance of a shower.

Water temperature is 83*.

Sunset is at 7:14 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:08 a.m.
