Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, January 20 at 8:30 a.m.

We are preparing for the Icebox Open, to be held one weekend in February. We will wait for a weekend with good waves and have around $2000 in cash and prizes for the winner. More details to come!

The Taste of Folly Festival is taking place today, come hang with us on the deck at the shop and check out the festivities.

Surf at the Washout this morning is very small and weak. It is ankle to knee high.

Surf zone is side-shore and semi-bumpy.

Winds are WSW at 5 to 10 knots.  We see winds veer south-west at 10 knots this afternoon, adding some side-shore bump to the surf zone.

High tide will be at 9:44 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:59 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:53 p.m.

Edisto buoy is reading 1.3 ft. at 10 seconds in easterly ground swell.

Surf stays very small today and for the rest of weekend. We see the potential for a quick shot of small, choppy south-west wind swell late Monday into early Tuesday as a cold front passes. A low pressure system approaches our area late during the work week, and could bring unsettled weather and some mixed direction wind swell Thursday in to Friday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the weekend. A cold front will move through the region Monday night into Tuesday morning, followed by more high pressure through the middle of next week.”

It is 43* this morning. It is sunny. We see sun today and a high of around 59*.

Water temperature is 45*.

Sunset is at 5:39 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:20 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
