Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, January 21st at 8:30 a.m.
We are preparing for the Icebox Open, to be held one weekend in February. We will wait for a weekend with good waves and have around $2000 in cash and prizes for the winner. More details to come!
Surf at the Washout this morning is very small and weak. It is ankle to knee high.
Surf zone is clean and glassy.
Winds are W at 2 knots. We see winds shift SW this afternoon, still at only 5 knots.
High tide will be at 10:16 am followed by low tide at 4:33 pm.
Edisto buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 4.3 seconds in short period WSW wind swell.
Surf stays very small today and for the rest of weekend. We see the potential for a quick shot of small, choppy south-west wind swell Tuesday as a cold front passes. High pressure moves in for the rest of the work week, leaving us without optimal surf conditions.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail into Monday. A cold front will move through the region Tuesday morning, followed by more high pressure for the rest of the work week.”
It is 47* this morning and partly sunny. We see sun today and a high of around 59*.
Water temperature is 45*.
Sunset is at 5:40 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:21 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
