Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, November 11, at 8:45 a.m.

With the time change, we move on to our winter hours, which are from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Waves at the Washout are running thigh to waist high with occasional bigger set. There’s a little size out there this cold morning, but the angle might be too much.

We see NE winds today at 15 to 25 knots. Surf zone stays side-shore, choppy and drifty.

Tide is coming in, and high tide is at 2:04 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:17 p.m.

Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 9 seconds in building, short-period, high angled north-east wind swell.

High angled north swell is here today. North-east wind swell should build overnight through Sunday with side-shore drifty conditions and strong north-winds today, but possibly laying off for a nice Sunday of surf. Surf has built to stomach high (plus) for today in drifty, high angled north-east wind swell. Surf drops some size as winds go moderate north-easterly for Sunday. Swell should rotates more easterly/south-easterly to start the new work week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cool and moist air mass will linger across the region today. Canadian high pressure will then build over the Eastern United States late week through the weekend. A cold front is expected to move through the area early next week. High pressure will then prevail during the middle of next week.”

It’s 47* and cloudy at the beach this morning. Look for cool weather and clouds and sun at the beach today, with a high of only 57* after a cold front passage.

Water temperature is around 68*, but could drop to the mid-60s by the end of the weekend. You’ll need a 3/2 full-suit.

Sunset is at 5:21 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:45 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
