Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, January 26 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the Washout this morning knee to thigh high with a waist high set. It looks like it’s kind of fun for the longboard this morning.
Winds are west/north-west at 5 knots, and surf-zone is very clean.
Look for north-west winds at 5 to 10 knots today, and we’ll have a clean surf-zone all day.
Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at noon. The next low tide will be at 6:13 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 8 seconds in a south/south-east ground swell, so there is some swell at the buoy, and there is some decent surf this morning.
We have knee to thigh high surf with a slightly bigger set as the tide comes in this morning as south-east swell begins to fade. Surf falls off for late day as the tide drops this afternoon. Look for small surf through Monday. Tuesday, we see a cold front approaching our marine area, and this should push up some weak, choppy south west wind swell in the waist-high range. Surf looks small late week after a cold front passage.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the region through much of the weekend. An area of low pressure will develop late Sunday and pass by offshore through Monday. A strong cold front will move through Tuesday, followed by cold high pressure into late next week.”
It’s 37* this morning with sun. Look for a high of 56* today with sun.
Water temperature is around 55*.
Sunrise is around 7:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:46 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
