Time of Report: 8:30 a.m
Wave Forecast: Knee high+
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, January 27 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at the Washout this morning knee high and glassy. It looks like it may have enough for the log as the tide fills in mid-morning.

Winds are west/north-west at 5 knots, and surf-zone is very clean.

Look for north winds at 5 to 10 knots today, and we’ll have a clean surf-zone all day.

Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 1:05p.m. The next low tide will be at 7:10 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 8 seconds in a east/southeast mid-period swell, so there is some swell at the buoy.

We have knee high surf with a slightly bigger set as the tide comes in this morning as east/southeast swell slowly continues to fade. Surf falls off for late day as the tide drops this afternoon.  Look for small surf through Monday. Tuesday, we see a cold front approaching our marine area, and this should push up some weak, choppy south west wind swell in the waist-high range. Surf looks small late week after a cold front passage.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will weaken across the region today as an area of low pressure develops off the Florida coast. The low will move northeast as it passes well offshore through Monday. A strong cold front will move through Tuesday, followed by cold high pressure into late week. A coastal trough could develop nearby next weekend.”

It’s 45* this morning with partly cloudy skies. Look for a high of 55* today with sun.

Water temperature is around 55*.

Sunrise is around 7:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:46 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
