Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, October 13 at 7:15 a.m.
The final night of the Carolina Surf Film Festival takes place tonight at Tradesman Brewing Company. It was really fun last night. Films start around 7 p.m., and doors are at 5 p.m. Come check us out at the Ocean Surf Shop tent for some more free pop-corn.
Waves at the pier this morning are knee high with a thigh set. It should get a little push with the incoming tide.
Winds are west around 5 knots. Surf zone is clean. Bring a longboard if you want to surf this morning.
Look for north winds this afternoon at 10 knots, making surf zone side-shore, but still fairly clean.
High tide is at 11:43 a.m., and the day’s next low tide will be at 5:54 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 8 seconds in medium period south-east swell.
We have high pressure set up over our marine area, and surf looks to be fairly small through Tuesday, before a cold front approaches and tries to push up some east/north-east wind swell surf. For the first time in a long time, there’s not a tropical system pushing waves into the beach, so just enjoy this five-star weather.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Cooler and drier high pressure across the region today will move into the Atlantic early next week, allowing for a return to warmer weather again. A cold front is forecast to cross the region Tuesday into Wednesday, with cooler high pressure to build late in the week.”
It’s 62* and cool this morning. Come pick up a neoprene top while we still have a some in stock. Look for a high of 81* today with sun.
Water temperature is 81*.
Sunset is at 6:49 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:21 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
