clean

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: thigh to waist
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Brett with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, October 14 at 8 a.m.

Waves at the pier this morning are knee high with a thigh set. It should get a little push with the incoming tide.

Winds are North around 4 knots. Surf zone is clean. Bring a longboard if you want to surf this morning.

Look for North North East winds this afternoon at 7 knots, making surf zone side-shore, but still fairly clean.

High tide is at 12:31 p.m., and the day’s next low tide will be at 6:44 p.m.  The Edisto buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 10 seconds in medium period East swell.  We have high pressure set up over our marine area, and surf looks to be fairly small through Tuesday, before a cold front approaches and tries to push up some east/north-east wind swell surf. For the first time in a long time, there’s not a tropical system pushing waves into the beach, so just enjoy this five-star weather.  Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Cooler and drier high pressure across the region today will move into the Atlantic early next week, allowing for a return to warmer weather again. A cold front is forecast to cross the region Tuesday into Wednesday, with cooler high pressure to build late in the week.”

It’s 68* and cool this morning. Come pick up a neoprene top while we still have a some in stock. Look for a high of 84* today with sun.

Water temperature is 81*.

Sunset is at 6:47 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:23 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
