semi choppy

Time of Report: 8:30
Wave Forecast: waist to stomach
Traffic: gonna be bad
Parking: you'll find some
Dangers: Critters and sunburn

Good Morning. This is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for the Sunday, July 23 at 8:30 a.m.

We have a whole new batch of Stewart, Gary Wilson and Jason Rowells in the shop. Come get one before hurricane season starts to heat up.

Waves at The Washout are waist to stomach high and slightly mushy/disorganized. It could improve on the outgoing tide as long as the wind doesn’t pick up too much more.

Winds are SW at 15 knots, and the surf zone is semi choppy.

We’re coming off of high tide at 8:21 a.m. Low tide is at 2:21 p.m. followed by another high at 8:49 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is reading 4 ft. at 4.5 seconds in SSW wind swell

Surf should average waist to stomach high today then decrease as the tide goes out midday.  Look for waves to possibly pick back up this evening, however strong wind could be an issue.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A high pres ridge will persist just SE of the area through Thu night. A series of weak low pres centers will track E along a stationary front near the far N waters today through Mon night. A stronger low will pass NE of the area late Mon night into Tue night while pulling the front S across the N and central waters as a cold front. The front will become nearly stationary across the central waters Wed into Wed night, then return N across the area as a weak warm front Thu into Thu night.”

It is 82* and sunny this morning.  Should be humid and partly cloudy today with a high of 87*.

Water temp is around 86*.

Sunset is at 8:23 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:28 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
