Time of Report: 8:30 AM
Wave Forecast: knee to thigh
Traffic: none for now
Parking: plenty for now
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for
Sunday, March 18 at 8:30 a.m.

We have tons of new board-shorts and bikinis at the shop, as well as all new spring men and women’s surf apparel from all of your favorite brands. Come by and see us.

Surf at the Washout is knee to thigh high.

Winds this morning are W/NW 10-15 knots and surf is semi choppy.

Look for increasing NW winds, going East later today at 15 to 20 knots. Surf zone chops up as the day wears on.

We have a high tide at 9:20 a.m., and a low tide will be at 3:25 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:33 p.m.

Edisto buoy is reading 4.6 ft. at 8 seconds in very steep south-westerly wind waves.

We see weak, choppy south-west wind swell building again for Sunday afternoon into the knee-to-thigh high range. We’re hoping that this little windswell will kick up some bigger waves this afternoon. Best chance for some wind-swell with a better direction might Monday as winds come on-shore as a cold front lifts north of our marine area creating some choppy east/south-east wind swell. Not a lot of real surf in the forecast, just small wind-swell for the next several days.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail today. A cold front will drop south into the area on Sunday and then stall in the vicinity, before lifting back north as a warm front Monday. Another cold front will pass through Tuesday, followed by cooler high pressure for the latter half of the week.”

It is 65* with sun this morning. Look for a warmer afternoon with windy conditions for afternoon. We see passing clouds and a high of 74*.

Water temperature is 58*.

Sunset is at 7:29 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:25 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
