Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 1 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is knee to thigh high.
Winds are south at 5 knots and surf is semi-clean
Look for winds to increase from the SE today at 10 to 12 knots, adding chop to the surf zone this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 10:36 a.m and a low tide at 4:27 p.m. The next high tide at is 11:01 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-easterly swell.
Surf looks very small to start the holiday work week. We could see some small south-easterly ground-swell/longboard waves develop late on the Fourth of July holiday and hold into the latter part of the week. Other than that, keep an eye on the tropics, as we continue to suffer through an extended flat spell.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A trough of low pressure will shift west of the area today, with weak high pressure to prevail early this week. A surface trough will then move towards the Southeast coast from the Atlantic by the middle of next week.”
It is 82* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 87* and partly cloudy today with a 20% chance of a T-storm.
Water temperature is up to 85*.
Sunset is at 8:31 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:15 a.m.
