Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, July 2 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is ankle high with an occasional knee-high wave.
Winds are east at 3 to 5 knots, and surf is weak, and clean.
Look for south east winds at 5 to 8 knots this afternoon, adding a slight chop to the surf zone.
We have a high tide at 11:15 a.m., and a low tide will be at 5:07 p.m. The next high tide is at 11:38 pm
The Edisto buoy is reading 1.3 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-easterly swell.
Surf looks very small to start the holiday work week. We could see some SMALL south-easterly ground-swell/longboard waves develop late on the Fourth of July holiday and hold into the latter part of the week. Other than that, keep an eye on the tropics, as we continue to suffer through an extended flat spell.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Weak high pressure will prevail early this week. A surface trough approaching from the southeast will cross the area through the middle of the week. A cold front could approach the area over the weekend.”
It is 82* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 88* and partly cloudy today with a 40% chance of a T-storm this afternoon.
Water temperature is 85*.
Sunset is at 8:31 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:15 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
