Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 28 at 7:30 a.m.
Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-thigh high looks fun for the logs.
Winds are N at 5-10 knots, resulting in clean conditions early.
Look for winds to rotate and pick up from the ENE through late morning into the afternoon hours.
We have a low tide at 11:09 a.m., and a high tide will be at 5:35 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3ft ft. at 6 seconds in a short period ENE swell.
Looks fun this Sunday morning for the logs as we currently see thigh high clean peelers. This should drop off throughout the later morning due to the tide dropping out so get it early if you can. Looking ahead high pressure sets up over our marine area this week resulting in dismal conditions. But looking way out East looks like a tropical wave has moved off Africa and could be something to watch for the later work week-next weekend. Models aren’t showing anything to crazy with it but its something that has potential to be a wave maker for us by next weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will remain centered over the southern Appalachianswhile a stationary front persists over Florida early this week. High pressure should then give way to a weak area of low pressure over the Coastal Plain during the second half of week.”
It’s 74* with partly cloudy skies this morning. Look for a high of 86* today with sun and clouds.
Water temperature is around 85*.
Sunrise is at 6:31 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:22 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
