Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, March 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Hope everyone remembered to move your clocks ahead one hour. We can surf after work again, which is awesome.
Surf at The Washout this morning is knee to thigh high with a waist high set in a small south wind swell. It looks OK for a high-volume board.
Winds are south/south-west at 5 knots, and surf is bumpy.
Look for winds from the south-west today increasing 10 to 15 knots, and we should have building, choppy south wind-swell in the water this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 11 a.m., and a low tide will be at 5:02 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3 ft at 6 seconds in a short period south wind swell.
We should see some building waves late afternoon as south-west winds and south wind swell builds at the beach later today. Swell cleans up some for Monday, but fades a bit as north/north-east winds blow as a cold front lingers in the area. Surf looks small for Tuesday, but small east swell fills in for mid-week, rotating more on-shore for Thursday and Friday. Overall small surf, but likely something for the high-volume board later in the week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front is expected to shift over the region tonight into early Monday. High pressure will then prevail through late week before another cold front shifts through the region during the weekend.”
It’s a good bit warmer this morning. With an air temperature of 67* and sun behind clouds. Look for a nice beach day with a high of 76* with sun and clouds.
Water temperature is around 59*, and should start into the 60s this week.
With the time change, sunrise is around 7:35 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:23 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
