Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, April 7th at 8:30 a.m.
We have LOTS of new spring merchandise at the shop, so come on by and see what’s new for spring. We also have spring suits and wet-suit jackets as the water temperature should rise in the next few weeks.
Surf at the Washout is knee-thigh high and weak overall but rideable for the high volume sticks.
Winds are East at less than 10 knots. Surf is semi-clean with some surface chop. Look for winds to pick up slightly as the progresses.
High tide is this morning at 9:59 a.m. and low tide will be at 4:02 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 8 seconds in a shorter period east wind swell.
Surf has dropped off some running in the thigh high range this Sunday morning not looking to inviting overall. It is still rideable but don’t expect much. Looking ahead into the work week, we see a low depart off our coast on Tuesday this should result in a slight increase in SE swell for Tuesday. Look for the surf to drop off mid-week before we see a cold front pass through late week bringing in a quick shot of south wind-swell. So we have some surf in the forecast but nothing to get to excited about.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Weak high pressure will develop offshore today. A low pressure system will impact the region early this week. High pressure will then prevail before a cold front crosses the area late week. High pressure will return next weekend.”
It’s 65* and overcast this morning in Folly. Look for a high of 72* today with mostly cloudy skies and chance of showers around mid-day.
Water temperature is around 62*.
Sunrise is around 7:02 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:41 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
