Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, Nov 5 at 8:30 a.m.
The time fell back overnight one hour, so we move on to our winter hours, which starting tomorrow are from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. There go those long, leisurely after work evening sessions.
Waves at the Washout are running knee to thigh high with waist high sets. It is soft and lumpy at the morning’s high tide. Bring the longboard, grovler or fish.
Winds are NNE at 10 to 15 knots, surf is side-shore, but clean.
We expect north winds today at 5 to 10 knots, with side-shore clean conditions today.
We have a full moon high right now at 8:06 a.m. low tide will be at 2:29 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:34 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 5.2 ft. at 7 seconds in short to medium period east, north-east wind swell with a fairly high angle on it.
Thigh to waist high longboard waves today, with swell rotating south-east over-night in the thigh high range.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will linger over the region through early week. A cold front will slide across the area Wednesday into Thursday. High pressure will then build over the Southeast late week.”
It’s a cool 66* and cloudy this morning. Look for a nice beach day with a high of 75* and some sun coming from behind the clouds this afternoon.
Water temperature has dropped to around 68*with the cold snap and that temp is just going to keep on dropping. Might want to get a wetsuit soon.
Sunset is at 5:34 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:41 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
