Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, Dec. 7 at 8:30 a.m.

Lots of Christmas gift ideas are here! Stance socks, Corkcicles, shop tees & hats, and lots more!

Waves at the Washout are knee to thigh high. There is a larger set occasionally, and it is rideable on the longboard.

Tide is way up in the rocks at the morning’s high tide

Winds are 5-10 out of the NNE, and surf is semi-choppy.

Surf should remain overall semi-choppy and bumpy this afternoon with winds out of the north all day.

High tide is at 10:45 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:56 p.m.

Edisto buoy is reading 5.9 ft. at 10 sec. in a mixture of medium period east swell and short period easterly wind swell.

Look for small, cold longboard waves in the water today. A cold low pressure has moved into our area with a small push up some sort of swell and we see high angled north wind waves and cold air to end the week. Looks like there could be an increase in swell tomorrow and into the weekend. Keep checking in with us and we’ll keep ya in the loop.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will begin to move east of the area today. A strong cold front will move through the region Wednesday. The front will stall just south of the area through late in the week with unsettled weather as waves of low pressure move along the front. Strong, cold high pressure is expected to return next weekend, persisting into early next week.”

It’s 45* with clouds and rain this morning. Look for a high of 47 with 100% chance of rain this afternoon.

Water temperature is back up to 60*, but that will drop with this front.

Sunset is at 5:12 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:07 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
