Surf at the Washout is running in the knee to thigh high range.
Winds are east at 5 knots, and surf is semi-clean.
Winds are expected to switch south-east later today at 5 to 10 knots, adding some bump to the surf.
We are coming off a high tide this morning, low tide will be at 12:02 p.m. High tide is at 6:20 this evening.
The Edisto buoy reading 3.3 ft. at 8 seconds in a combination of east/north-easterly medium period swell and wind swell with a high angle. Most of the swell is moving past our beaches.
We see knee to thigh high surf with bumpy conditions this afternoon as the tide pushes in. High pressure is set up over our marine area, offering beautiful weather but small surf through the end of the work week. A cold front approaches Saturday, brining south wind swell. This swell will begin building Saturday, and increase Sunday in big choppy south wind waves. Swell fades and cleans up form Monday morning, before dropping off Monday afternoon.
