The Edisto buoy is reading 4.3 ft at 6 seconds in a mix of dominant south wind swell, and a smaller medium-period south-east swell.
We continue to see choppy south wind swell today average waist high with plus sets today. Surf continues rideable to end the work week a high pressure sits to our east and low pressure hangs to our west. This will keep on-shore winds in the forecast and lazy semi-choppy trade-wind swell at the beach through Friday. South winds drop off a bit for Friday, so look for better surf as the tide comes in Friday morning. Saturday, south wind swell continues but begins to fade. Surf fades out on Sunday and we should be back to small surf for the first full week of August.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Unsettled conditions will persist through Friday as the region remains situated between high pressure offshore and an inland trough of low pressure. Atlantic high pressure will build in for the weekend, before another inland trough develops during the early and middle parts of next week.”
