Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, July 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Pier this morning are knee high. Winds are off-shore, and surf is clean. It shows potential, but you might want to wait until the tide comes in some mid-morning and bring a longboard.
Winds are north at 10 knots, and surf zone is side-shore, but clean.
Look for winds to pick-up north-east at 10 to 15 knots late morning, adding side-shore chop and drift in the surf zone.
We just had a low tide, and high tide will be at 2:37 p.m. The next low tide at 8:52 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 7 seconds in a medium period south/south-east swell and a high-angle short period east wind-swell, 3.3 ft. at 6 seconds.
Surf should be best on the incoming tide this morning, better for the longboard. Look for north-east winds this afternoon and side-shore chop later today as surf fades out some on the lower tide late day. A frontal boundary stalled offshore today and Friday, and we see continued small longboard surf through Friday with moderate north-east winds this week and small but longboard-able east swell. Surf drops off some late Friday and into the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will build inland while a stationary front lingers offshore through late week. High pressure will then prevail over the weekend into early next week.”
It’s a beautiful morning. It’s 75* and sunny. Look for a high of 86* today with sun.
Water temperature is around 85*.
Sunrise is at 6:28 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:22 p.m.
