Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, March 15 at 8:15 a.m.
We just received the complete line of Beater and Odysea soft-boards here at the shop. Including all sizes of the single-fin Plank, the Jamie O’Brien Pro Model, the Wave Bandit and more. Go soft or go home.
Surf at the Washout is flat.
Winds are west at 10 to 15 knots, and surf zone is clean early.
Look for strong south-west – side-shore – winds today, and crossed up wind chop in the surf zone today.
Tide is going out, and low tide is at 1:25 p.m. High tide will be at 7:32 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 5 seconds in westerly wind swell blowing away from the beach.
Winds come south-west at 20 to 25 knots later today, creating weak, knee-to-thigh high, drifty wind chop in the surf zone. There is a chance for some weak, leftover wind chop in the surf zone Friday morning early at high tide, but it’s nothing much to write home about. We see choppy south-west wind swell building again for Saturday afternoon into the knee-to-thigh high range. Best chance for some real wind-swell with a better direction might Monday and into the middle of next week as winds come on-shore as a cold front stalls near our marine area creating some choppy south/south-west wind swell.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Dry, cool high pressure will prevail through Friday. A cold front will likely affect the area Friday night into Saturday before stalling over or near the area into early next week.”
It is a cold 37* with sun this morning. Look for a warmer afternoon with windy conditions, some sun, and a high of 65*.
Water temperature is back down to 57* with the cold snap.
Sunset is at 7:26 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:31 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
