Winds are south-west at 15 to 20 knots, and surf-zone is choppy, drifty and kind of weak. It does not look great, but it’s bigger than it’s been for a few weeks.
Look for south-west winds at 20 knots this morning, going more southerly at 15 to 25 knots this afternoon with choppy, drifty conditions.
Low tide is at 11:25 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:50 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 4.9feet at 6 seconds in a short period south/south-west wind swell.
High pressure will be in control of our weather, sitting right on top of our marine area through the end of the week. Look for choppy south/south-west wind swell to fill in and build this afternoon into Friday. Small south swell should hold for the longboard session into Saturday morning, before surf falls off some for the remainder of the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure and unseasonably hot conditions will persist today. A weakening cold front will cross through the region late Friday, bringing modest relief from the oppressive heat this weekend through the middle of next week.”
It’s a beautiful morning. It’s 82* with sun. Look for a nice day with sun and a high temperature of 89*.
