Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, May 29 at 8:30 a.m.
We have A TON of boards on our consignment racks at great prices, including some of our old rentals for cheap. Come check those out!
The flat spell continues. Surf at The Washout is flat. It’s pretty much un-rideable.
Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf-zone is clean and waves are weak.
Look for south-west winds at 5 knots mid-morning, then south winds at 15 to 20 this afternoon. Surf-zone should be choppy for afternoon as the south winds pick up.
Low tide is at 10:40 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:03 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 6 seconds in a mix of small south-east swell and south/south-west wind swell.
High pressure will be in control of our weather, sitting right on top of our marine area through the end of the week. Look for choppy south/south-west wind swell to fill in a bit for Thursday and Friday, and a small south swell should hold for the longboard session into Saturday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure and unseasonably hot conditions will persist a few more days. A dissipating cold front should bring modest relief from the oppressive heat this weekend.”
It’s a beautiful morning. It’s 81* with sun. Look for a very hot beach day with sun and a high temperature of 93*.
Water temperature is around 82*.
Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:20 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
