Surf at The Washout is thigh-to-waist high with a stomach high set.
Winds are south-easterly at 5 knots, and surf is bumpy and the form is not great.
Look for winds to continue easterly today at 10 to 15 knots, rotating south-east and gusting to 20 knots later in the day, chopping up the surf.
High tide will be at 11:55 a.m. Low tide will be at 5:56 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 4.9 ft. at 12 seconds in a long period easterly swell 3.6 ft. at 12 seconds and a secondary south-east wind swell 3.6 ft. at 6 seconds.
We have mixed-direction easterly swell in the water this morning, with choppy surf continuing this afternoon as winds pick up from the south-east, averaging 15 knots. We should continue to see an increase in south wind swell today through Friday morning on the incoming tide as another cold front and some unsettled weather approaches our marine area, trending winds south/south-east. This swell should fall off Saturday, then pick up Sunday in a fresh, choppy, south-west wind swell, which should clean up and drop some to start your work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through late week. A cold front will approach this weekend with increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms. The cold front will push offshore early next week, followed by drier high pressure.”
It’s 72* with cloudy skies. Look for a sun behind clouds today and a high of 78*.
Water temperature is around 76*.
Sunrise is at 6:25 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:06 p.m.
