Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tues., Oct. 24 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the Washout at waist to stomach high with chest high (plus) sets. It is soft at the morning’s high tide, and is very clean. It is really fun this morning.
Winds are westerly at 5 knots, and should remain westerly at 5 to 10 knots with clean surf in the forecast.
Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 11:32 a.m. Low tide will be at 5:47 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 7.2 ft. at 8 seconds in south-easterly wind swell. Plenty of swell at the buoy, and we should have some sort of surf all day.
We see south-east wind swell today average waist to stomach high, dropping out some at the late afternoon low tide. South-east swell fades overnight, and we see small, clean leftover wind swell for Wednesday. Small surf is in the forecast for late week, before a low moves near or off-shore of our waters out of the Gulf of Mexico and pushes up some swell late in your weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure and dry weather will prevail into late this week before a weak area of low pressure from the south possibly affects the area and a cold front approaches from the west. High pressure should then return early next week with cooler temperatures.”
It is 64* and cloudy this morning. Look for a partly cloudy day with some sun in the forecast this afternoon and a high of 76*
Water temperature has dropped to around 73*with the cold snap. Might want to get a wetsuit soon.
Sunset is at 6:37 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:29 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
