Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wed., Oct. 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the Washout at knee to thigh high.
Winds are NW at 5 to 10 knots, and should switch to WNW at 15 to 20 knots this afternoon.
Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 12:16 a.m. Low tide will be at 6:28 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 8 seconds in Easterly wind swell.
We see minimal easterly wind swell today average knee to thigh high, dropping out some at the late afternoon low tide. South-east swell has faded overnight, and we see small, clean leftover wind swell for today. Small surf is in the forecast for late week, before a low moves near or off-shore of our waters out of the Gulf of Mexico and pushes up some swell late in your weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure and dry weather will prevail into late this week before a weak area of low pressure from the south possibly affects the area and a cold front approaches from the west. High pressure should then return early next week with cooler temperatures.”
It is a chilly 52* and sunny this morning. Look for a sunny day and a high of 69*. Winter is coming.
Water temperature has dropped to around 73*with the cold snap. Might want to get a wetsuit soon.
Sunset is at 6:37 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:29 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
