Tues., Oct. 3rd
knee-waist, disorganized
Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Oct. 3rd at 8:15 a.m.
Carolina Surf Film Festival is set for October 20-21st at the Brickhouse Kitchen here in Charleston, and if you’re looking to take a road trip, they’ll be at Waterman’s Brewing Company in Wilmington on October 13-14th! Always a great time.
Waves at the washout are knee to thigh high with waist high sets coming in fairly frequently. It’s drifty and semi disorganized with side-shore, north-east wind swell conditions.
Winds are north/north-east at 15-20 knots, and surf is drifty and slightly blow out but with clean faces. Conditions are expected to stay the same throughout the day.
Low tide will be at 12:32 pm followed by high tide at 6:57 pm.
Edisto buoy is reading 6.6 ft. at 5.5 seconds in east/north-east wind swell.
Winds are expected to turn E then SW as the week progresses. Swell will continue to form, however wind directions will make the conditions disorganized and choppy. There does seem to be size in the water, so keep checking back to see what materializes.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: A strong high pres ridge will build SE over the waters today, drift S across the area tonight into Thu night, then weaken Fri through Sat night. A weak cold front will approach the N waters Fri night, and stall just N of the area Sat.
It is 70* and partly cloudy this morning. Expect a cooler day with a high of 78* and cloudy skies. There is a chance of showers all day.
Water temperature is around 79* but will continue to drop this week with north-east winds and rain.
Sunset is at 7:00 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:14 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
