Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, February 6 at 8:30 a.m.
Come check out our wetsuit sale. All full-suits marked down at least 20% and you’ll need one for the next two months.
We are planning to hold the Icebox Open on a weekend with some good waves sometime after Valentine’s Day, so keep an out for the big cold-water showdown!
Surf at the Washout this morning is knee high with a thigh set.
Winds are north-west – off-shore – at 5 knots, and surf is nice and clean.
We see light and variable winds today, and surf zone should be clean.
Probably best for a longboard this morning.
We have a high tide at 12:19 p.m., and a low tide will be at 6:31 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 10 seconds in long period easterly swell.
Look for overall small, clean surf for Tuesday in the knee to thigh high range. We see another bumpy, choppy south/south-east wind swell grace out beaches as a cold front approaches late in the day on Wednesday. This should offer some cleaner leftovers for Thursday morning on the incoming tide as winds go north after a cold front passes overnight Thursday. Surf falls a bit on Friday in high angle north-east wind waves. We have a chance for some rideable, choppy southerly wind swell as winds rotate on-shore – east to south-east – Saturday into Sunday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will give way to a warm front tonight which will develop ahead of an approaching cold front. The cold front will move offshore early Thursday with high pressure returning at least briefly until unsettled weather likely returns late in the week into early next week.”
It is sunny this morning and 45*. Look for a nice beach day: mostly sunny and a high of 66*.
Water temperature is right around 50*.
Sunset is at 5:55 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:10 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
