Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, July 2 at 7:30 a.m.
Come check out all our 4th of July gear that’s filled up the shop to keep you styled out over the holiday week!
We had a camera malfunction this morning, so we don’t have any pictures. It’s fine, there is nothing to take pictures of as far as waves go.
“Waves” at The Washout this morning are flat.
Winds are easterly at 5 knots, and surf zone is a bit bumpy.
Look for winds from the west south-east today picking up into the 10 mph range, with a bumpy surf zone today.
We are coming off a high tide this morning. Low tide will be at 2:01 a.m., and high tide will be at 8:28 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 ft at 8 seconds seconds in a medium period south-east swell.
Not much swell at the buoy, and small surf at the beach continues. We should have un-rideable waves through Wednesday, then we see a slight uptick in choppy south wind swell Friday, building some from the south into Sunday as a font approaches from the west early next week. Not great, but maybe some bigger choppy surf on Sunday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A surface trough of low pressure will persist under a ridge of high pressure aloft through this weekend. A weak front could approach the region early next week.”
It’s 84* with sunshine this morning. We have a hot day ahead with an expected high of 91* and a 40% chance for an afternoon thunderstorm.
Water temperature is around 84*.
Sunrise is at 6:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop. Pray for surf.
