Washout August 13th

clean

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee high
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: gnats

Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, August 13th at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee high.

Winds are light and variable this morning and surf is clean.

Look for winds to switch from the S later today, remaining light under 10 knots.

Tide is outgoing now. We have a low tide at 1:00 p.m., and a high tide at 7:36 p.m.  The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 ft at 8 seconds in a south-east swell.    Surf has dropped this morning but is still fun on the right board at outgoing tide this morning. Yet again, we have decently fun, glassy waves.  The remainder of the week looks to stay small with increasing SW winds. We see showers and thunderstorms mixed in over the course of the week, potentially giving way to small windows of cleaner surf, but not much to hold onto this week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure over the region today will give way to an inland surface trough tonight. A cold front is expected to move into the area late Wednesday, then linger into Friday before slowly moving offshore.”

It’s 83* with sunny skies. Look for a high of 90* today with mostly sunny skies.

Water temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:38 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:10 p.m.
