Washout July 7th

clean

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: thigh high

Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, July 6th at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at The Washout this morning are in the thigh high range.

Winds are NNE at 5 knots, and surf is clean.

Look for winds from the S over the course of the day up to 15 knots this afternoon.

We have a high tide at 11:41 a.m., and a low tide will be at 5:36 p.m.  The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 ft at 8 seconds in a short period ESE swell and southerly wind.  We should have a slight uptick in choppy south-west wind swell over the weekend. Surf should be building some from the south-west into Sunday as a trough of low pressure brings south/south-west winds to our marine area. Not great surf, but maybe some bigger choppy surf late in the weekend and into the start of the work week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A trough of low pressure will linger across the region through Sunday. A weak front will then stall across the area late Tuesday and linger into next weekend.”

It’s 79* with clouds this morning. Expect rain and thunderstorms on-and-off today, with a high of 86*.

Water temperature is around 86*.

Sunrise is at 6:16 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop. Pray for surf.
