Surf at the Washout is running waist to stomach high. Winds are south at 6 knots. Surf is semi-choppy and bumpy, but you can definitely still get into a wave no problem. Winds are expected to remain from the south at 20 knots this afternoon. Surf stays choppy today.
High tide will be at 9:02 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:01 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:34 p.m.
The Edisto buoy reading 3.9 ft. at 5 seconds in short period SSE ground/wind swell mix.
We see tropical storm Alberto moving up into the Tennessee Valley through mid-week. Surf remains waist to stomach high as the storm and on-shore flow dissipates. Look for choppy south-west wind swell for the latter half of the work week and into the weekend. It will be rideable, but choppy and weak with waves averaging thigh to waist high.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Tropical moisture will remain in place across the region today as Tropical Depression Alberto tracks northward toward the Great Lakes. A series of disturbances passing near the area will bring periods of unsettled weather through the end of the week. A cold front will cross the area this weekend, followed by high pressure building in early next week.
It is 75* and overcast this morning. Look for a high of 84* with partly cloudy skies and a 30% chance of rain. Water temperature is now up to around 79*. Sunset is at 8:21 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:13 a.m.
