Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, September 1 at 8:30 a.m.

We’ll be having a Labor Day Sale today through Monday with 25% off apparel, sunglasses, footwear and more. We’ll also have $75 off any Tim Jump Secula surfboard in the shop. Come see us at the beach this weekend.

Keep in mind bulldozers and beach re-nourishment area taking place at the Washout, but it has moved south, so the Washout is open. Obviously, there’s a ton more sand at the Washout than there used to be, so it’s going to take a while to get back to a normal break.

Surf at the Washout this morning is flat to knee high.  It’s breaking close to shore.

Winds are E at 10-15 knots, and surf is textured.

Look winds to remain light out of the SE today around 5-10 knots with a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon making the winds variable.

High tide will be at 12:23 a.m. We have a low tide will be at 6:47 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2 ft. at 4.6 seconds in a very small ESE wind/swell mix.

Not much in the way of waves for this Labor Day weekend expected but bring a log with you if you head out to the beach.  This morning the National Hurricane Center named Tropical Storm Florence who is moving at 40 mph with 35 knot winds off the coast of Africa. We’ll keep our eye on that one! Additionally, there’s a small disturbance in the Caribbean that could create a ripple effect our direction in the next couple of days, those chances are low as it seems to be moving toward the Gulf. Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will remain the dominant feature through next week. However, a tropical wave will move across Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico Monday into Tuesday while a second wave likely approaches from the east late in the week.”

It’s 80* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 85* and sunshine with a chance of scattered showers later in the day.

Water temperature is 84*.

Sunset is at 7:51 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:48 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
