Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for
Wednesday, March 28 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is thigh to waist high with a plus set in high-angled, semi-glassy east/north-east wind ground swell combo.
Winds are SSW at 5 to 10 knots, surf is semi-glassy in high angled north-east wind waves.
The tide is super high right now. It should get a bit better as the tide goes out a little in late morning/early afternoon but after that low tide will make it start to close out.
Look for winds to increase out of the southeast in the 15-20 knot range and create some disorganization.
We have a low tide at 12:20 a.m., and a high tide will at 6:42 p.m.
Edisto buoy is 5.9 ft. at 12 seconds in easterly wind swell, and easterly ground swell combination.
We see high angled mixed easterly swell in the thigh to waist high range today with bigger sets this afternoon in semi-glassy conditions. Winds rotate southerly at 10 to 20 knots this afternoon. Swell fades overnight, but we might have some waves left over tomorrow. Waves average thigh to waist high with a plus set at the right tide. Winds go south-west Thursday before another cold front passage on Friday, so there should be some waves of varying quality in the water for the next several days.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Strong high pressure centered north of the region will weaken today, then move offshore through midweek. A cold front will move through the area Friday, followed by a return of high pressure this weekend. Another cold front could approach the area early next week.”
It is 58* with sun this morning. Look for a high of 69* today with sun and maybe some clouds.
Water temperature is around 59*.
Sunset is at 7:36 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:12 a.m
