glassy

Time of Report: 8:30 AM
Wave Forecast: shin high
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: it's chilly!

Waves at the Washout are ankle to shin high and perfectly glassy

Winds are NNW at less than 5 knots, and should switch to light E winds at 5 knots later today.

Low tide day will be at 12:04 pm followed by high tide will be at 6:20 pm.

Edisto buoy is reading 1.6 ft. at 7 seconds in long period east/south-east swell.

Maybe a thigh high longboard wave as the tide comes in this evening and wind remains light, but overall surf is pretty small. High pressure is set up over our marine area and should remain over our area this week, with minimal surf in the forecast as is often seen with this type of weather pattern. There are not too many wave making systems in the forecast this week, so enjoy the beautiful fall weather instead or get out there on a paddle board.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A high pres ridge will build E into the region today, then persist over the area into Fri night. A weak warm front will move into E waters late Thu night before moving E of the area as a cold front later Fri.”

It’s a cool 56* and sunny this morning. Look for a beautiful fall day with a high of only 75* and sunshine.

Water temperature has dropped to around 69*with the cold snap. Might want to get a wetsuit soon.

Sunset is at 6:28 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:37 a.m.
