Semi-chop early. Going clean later today.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee. Occ. thigh sets.
Traffic: Moderate.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 17 at 8:30 a.m.
We have a ton of spring-suits and neoprene jackets at the shop in all shapes, sizes and thicknesses for men, women and kids. Come pick one up if the temperature ever decides to drop.
Waves at the pier this morning are averaging knee high. There is an occasional thigh set, but bring the long-board if you want to surf this morning.
Winds are west/south-west at 5 to 10 knots and surf is side-shore and semi-choppy.
Look for north-west winds this afternoon after a cold front passage this afternoon, cleaning up small surf.
We have a low tide as of report time, and high tide will be at 3:11 p.m. The next low tide is at 9:23 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 5 seconds in a short period south/south-west wind swell.
Not expecting any tropical systems to push up any surf for us this week. We see strong, high-angled, north-east wind-swell fill into the beach Thursday and Friday before abating some on Saturday. This swell rotates more on-shore Sunday and Monday, and we could have some wind-swell to ride late in the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will cross the region today then move south of the area tonight. Cooler high pressure will then move in through late week before a stronger cold front pushes through Saturday night.”
It’s 78* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 86* today with mostly sunny skies, but it should finally get colder tomorrow.
Water temperature is now 79* after the cooler weather we had over the weekend.
Sunset is at 6:43 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:25 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
