drifty, semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: thigh high
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: jellies are still out

Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, October 18th at 8:30 a.m.

We have a ton of spring-suits and neoprene jackets at the shop in all shapes, sizes and thicknesses for men, women and kids. Come pick one since the temp has dropped this morning.

Waves at the pier this morning are averaging thigh high.

Winds are NNE at 20 knots and surf is side-shore and semi-choppy.

Look for NE waves hovering around 10-15 knots this afternoon.

Low tide is coming up at 9:27 a.m. and high tide will be at 4:05 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:14 p.m. The Edisto buoy is reading 7.2 feet at 6 seconds in a short period NNE wind swell. We see strong, high-angled, north-east wind-swell fill into the beach Thursday and Friday before dissipating some on Saturday. This swell rotates more on-shore Sunday and Monday, and we could have some wind-swell to ride late in the weekend.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Cooler high pressure will build over the region today and Friday before shifting offshore Saturday. A stronger cold front will advance through the area Saturday night, followed by cool high pressure through the middle of next week.”

It’s 67* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 74* today with partly cloudy skies.

Water temperature is now 79* after the cooler weather we had over the weekend.

Sunset is at 6:43 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:25 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
