Glassy

Time of Report: 8:30 AM
Wave Forecast: Shoulder to Head high
Traffic: light for now
Parking: not much at washout
Dangers: other surfers

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Sept 24th at 8:30AM.

Waves at the washout are shoulder to head high in glassy, hollow conditions! Surf looks super fun so get out there!

High tide is at 11:31AM, low tide will be at 5:31pm.

Winds are NE at 10-12 knots this am and forecasted to stay low all day.

Edisto Buoy is reading 8.5 ft. at 11.4 seconds in building, medium-to-long period easterly/south-easterly swell.

Swell from Hurricane Maria is in full effect for our window with shoulder to head high sets. With winds out of the NE, we should have fairly good conditions all day. Maria swell should stick around for the beginning of the work week and last most of the week as well. Tropical storm Lee isn’t looking like we’ll get much swell out of him, but we’ll keep an eye on it and let you know if he does.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through this weekend. The high will weaken and shift inland as Hurricane Maria tracks northward off the Southeast U.S. coast through the first half of next week. A cold front could approach the forecast area late next week.”  It is 74* and sunny this morning. Expect a high of 84* and sun this afternoon.  Water temperature is around 81*.

Sunset is at 7:15 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:08 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
