Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee high
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: nada

Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, October 16 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at the pier this morning are averaging knee high.

Winds are light out the West and surf is clean but feathering slightly then kind of mushing out close to shore.

Look for South winds at around 10 knots later today with semi-choppy conditions.

High tide is at 2:16 p.m., and low tide will be at 8:26 p.m.  The Edisto buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 3.9 seconds in short period South wind swell. The tropics are quiet for now, but we see a high pressure system to the south get pushed out by a cold front making its way to us tomorrow and into the weekend. Look for small, mostly weak surf except for a chance of some wind/ground swell combo on Thursday.  Stay tuned.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A summer-like pattern with above normal temperatures will prevail until a cold front crosses the region Wednesday into Wednesday night. Cooler high pressure will then move in through late week before a stronger cold front likely pushes through Saturday night.”

It’s 77* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 89* today with mostly sunny skies.

Water temperature is now 79* after the cooler weather we had over the weekend.

Sunset is at 6:45 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:23 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
