Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, December 31th at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the Washout this morning are Knee High peelers!
Winds are light and variable this morning making for glassy conditions.
Expect light ENE winds today with dense fog.
High tide will be at 3:21 p.m., and low tide will be at 9:16 A.M
The Edisto buoy is reading 3 ft at 6.9 seconds in a short period SE swell.
Swell is down a couple notches from the last couple days today. Currently seeing clean knee high peelers through the dense fog. The mid-morning tide push will be your best bet today to get wet, could perhaps see a thigh high wave. Looks like were starting the new year with a slow start. Not much heading our way although should remain rideable for the high volume sticks to start the new year on optimal tides. Also another shot of a quick south swell on Friday could be in the making we will keep you updated.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A warm front will move north of the region today. A cold front will approach the area on Tuesday before stalling and/or dissipating over the area Wednesday through Thursday. Another cold front should push through the region Friday before dry high pressure occurs this weekend through early next week.
It’s a warm foggy morning and it’s 62* with cloudy skies. Look for a high of 70* with lots of fog.
Water temperature is around 57*.
Sunrise is around 7:20 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:24 p.m.
